Brunch Ideas

I have been asked what I would serve for brunch and this has given me a lot of pause for thought. To me, a good brunch starts with breakfast and ends with tea! It is all the in between stuff I have to think about, as I have only ever eaten brunch out, and never tried to serve this meal at home. I think I would have to start with some granola and yoghurt, served with a platter of fresh fruit.

After that it would have to be a hot dish of poached eggs served with smoked salmon, English muffins and a Hollandaise sauce.

I would serve all of this with freshly ground coffee and a few bottles of Champagne and to end this meal I think scones would be in order.

There would also have to be freshly baked bread for people to nibble on as well as a generous platter with a selection of my favourite cheeses and cured meats on it.

  5. Honestly, Tandy, I couldn’t think of any answer to your question when I started looking at your photos. All I knew (or heard) was my tummy rumbling. Can I be your guest instead? LOL!

  10. Yarm… I love brunch, it’s the perfect time of day to eat, and you don’t have to justify any of it. I reckon I’d cook everything you did, but with a truck load of scones, I’m crazy for them lately. 🙂

  12. I would love one of each of everything you are serving. However, those sun dried tomato breads look lovely and I would want to start with one of those with a bit of smoked salmon and fresh veggies.

  13. Some of my favourite foods right there! Have to admit that I made Eggs Benedict for brunch last year for some friends and it took forever! Probably because I made potato hash instead of buying ready-made muffins. It was good – just a faff. Next time I think I’ll stick to pancakes, flapjacks, croissants, muffins, etc. Lovely photos! 🙂

  14. I would skip everything just to have a double portion of Eggs Benedict with a side of bubbly – perfect.
    Have a super day Tandy.
