  6. Great analysis of WordPress Tandy. I really like using it as a platform. It is so intuitive to use and WP.org is incredibly customizable, with a little bit of a learning curve.

  8. Great post Tandy. I bought my own domain name from the get-go but am still hosted on WordPress. I would like to move to a self-hosted blog because whilst I love a lot of things about WordPress hosting, the lack of plug-ins etc. you can use frustrates me now I have been blogging a while. I am still a bit confused as to the difference between the two types of blogs and what self-hosting involves so I would be interested to know if you have any hints and tips for moving to a self-hosted blog?

  9. I’ve had blogger since the beginning and while I’ve never had any problems, if I could go back I would start with wordpress. You have much more control over your site with it and it has much more functionality!

  11. So good of you to put these posts together Tandy.
The only thing I don’t like since you migrated over is that when you reply to my comments I don’t get notifications any more unless I subscribe to follow-up comments.

    • HI Mandy, do you work on Google Chrome? If yes, you can add the wordpress extension and then it will notify you of replies to all wordpress blogs you comment on 🙂
