Tissue Salts For Anti-ageing, Margaret Roberts

Tissue Salts For Anti-ageing, Margaret Roberts

I have a post graduate degree in clinical psychology and my aim was to have a treatment focus that uses natural remedies. To that end I’ve studied using essential oils and Bach Flower remedies as alternatives to medication. I’ve also studied nutrition and how it affects our health. I’ve always used tissue salts but have never had the opportunity to learn more until now. Given my age, Margaret Roberts’ latest book Tissue Salts For Anti-ageing seemed like the perfect place to start.

Chapters are divided into:
  • Calcarea Fluorata
  • Calcarea Phosphoricum
  • Calcarea Salphurica
  • Ferrum Phosphoricum
  • Kalium Muriaticum
  • Kalium Phosphoricum
  • Kalium Sulphuricum
  • Magnesia Phosphorica
  • Natrum Muriaticum
  • Natrum Phosphoricum
  • Natrum Sulphuricum
  • Silicea
  • Ailment chart

In the preface Margaret notes how versatile the salts are. The book deals with tissue salts as well as different ways of growing, cooking and eating food. Using tissue salts was a biochemistry discovery by Dr. Schuessler in the 1800’s.

Recipes that caught my eye:

  • Calc. Fluor. Health juice (p23)
  • Barley water (p41)
  • Calc. Sulph. Broth (p42)
  • Kali. Mur. Cleanse (p57)
  • Kali. Phos.-rich beetroot bake (p70)
  • Sandy’s pan bread (p79)
  • Mag. Phos. Snack food (p88)
  • Nat. Mur. Herbal salt (p96)
  • Digestive seed mix (p111)

What I made:

I made the digestive seed mix as Dave has become quite restless during the night. It has certainly made a difference and I try and add some to our evening meals. I am using it in a grinder and the flavour is really good.

My verdict:

Information for each tissue salt includes the keywords, what areas of the body it works on and some recipes. Margaret lists secondary and complementary tissue salts for each one as well as the herbs and foods that contain the specific mineral. I will most certainly try the remedy for kidney stones on page 83 as I’ve got a stubborn one at present. I only take one tablet of the tissue salts I use per day whereas Margaret recommends quite high doses. As I don’t have a medical background I’m not sure how this affects the body. I found it strange that she recommends we avoid sugar in all forms on page 12 and then has it as an ingredient on page 51 in the recipe for horseradish sauce.

Margaret Roberts passed away on the 4th of March. I wish her family a long life.
