I Made It – A New Challenge For Bloggers

Feb 22, 2013Feb 2, 2021 ~ Tandy ~ 28 Comments

I have given a lot of though to starting up my weekly challenges again, and decided against it because of all the hard work, and because we all lead such busy lives that a weekly challenge is too difficult to achieve. So, I have come up with a new monthly challenge theme I Made It. It does … Continue reading I Made It – A New Challenge For Bloggers

Hellburner, Mike Maden

Feb 19, 2023Feb 17, 2023 ~ Tandy ~ 4 Comments

Hellburner opening lines: “That’s his third course correction, sir,” Santos said. “There’s no doubt he’s chasing us.” My blurb: Sokratis Katrakis has done everything he can to ensure the world thinks he is dead. But his old time business partner, David Hakobyan is well aware he is still alive. The Armenian lives a life most … Continue reading Hellburner, Mike Maden

Linseed Sourdough Made With Active Starter

Jul 9, 2021Jun 7, 2021 ~ Tandy ~ 9 Comments

I can remember my step-gran eating linseeds every day of her life. She would place them into water overnight and then have them the following day. They are an excellent source of fibre, and one of the reasons I made this linseed sourdough. You might call them flaxseeds where you live. Blueberry Frangipane | Made With Frozen Fruit

Apr 9, 2021Mar 16, 2021 ~ Tandy ~ 8 Comments

Green Bean Soup Made With Chicken Stock

Mar 8, 2021Feb 11, 2021 ~ Tandy ~ 10 Comments

After 20 years of living together, and 28 years of knowing each other, I learnt something new about Dave. He is not a fan of green beans. I like them blanched in boiling water, slathered with butter and salted. When I made the discovery I had just purchased a large bag of them. So I … Continue reading Green Bean Soup Made With Chicken Stock

Dave and I went to @kenforrestervineyards to do a Chenin tasting. We have been drinking their wines for years but this was our first visit to the estate. Do not arrive an hour before they close and expect to do a tasting. It's just not possible. And do expect to pay for your tasting even if you buy wine. #cheninblanc #chenin #buysouthafricanwine #drinksouthafricanwine #buylocal #wine #winetasting #jobssaveslives #IHearYou #ISeeYou #HowCanIHelp #LavenderAndLime

Dinner on Saturday night was at the @longtablerestaurant at @haskellvineyards. The vines are full of grapes and we walked to the lookout point before our meal. We enjoyed the seafood bisque, chicken liver parfait, garden salad, gnocchi and slow roasted lamb shoulder. All with a very refreshing chardonnay. My dessert was a total let down. Service from Eddie was excellent. And as you can see, the setting is stunning. #eatlocal #eatout #visitsouthafrica #jobssaveslives #stellenbosch #IHearYou #ISeeYou #HowCanIHelp #LavenderAndLime
