Arugula is a hidden gem of an Italian restaurant and can be found upstairs at the Welgemoed Forum in Bellville. You can contact them on 021 913 6906 and they are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner Tuesdays to Fridays and for breakfast and lunch on a Sunday. The average main course is R108 (€11).
We have eaten there twice and each time the menu was different, offering us a great selection of dishes to try. Each meal portion was generous and tasty and I would go back for a quick dinner anytime we are in the area. Service is smooth and we were well attended to by staff who are well spoken and know their menu. Suggestions were offered and followed. It feels as if you are dining in a bistro in Italy, and you can buy goods from the deli, which are on display surrounding the open kitchen. To me the only distraction is the walk downstairs to the bathroom – but it is a good excuse to get some exercise between the main course and the must have desserts.
We were very lucky to spot an owl on our last visit there so make sure you are quiet when you leave, maybe you will spot one as well.

Arugula, or roquette as we know it, is one of my favourite salad leaves. The peppery flavour of fresh or wild roquette is superb.
it is indeed 🙂
The hidden places are often the best my friend, this place sounds lovely 🙂
