I am always looking for recipes to remind me of Italy. Especially as we have not been able to travel as yet this year. I made these baked masala figs when figs were in season. And then topped my brownie chocolate cake with them.
Part of my new routine includes training four times per week. We have gone back to work but Dave and I decided we would start our mornings in the gym. As I want to watch TV at the same time, I have taken my stepper downstairs. This way I can watch programmes Dave refuses to watch, without bothering him. During the first week of isolation I dropped my fitness watch. The screen had a crack along the top, but it was still working. And I cannot tell you how relieved I was. That is, until I put it on to charge and I realized I had damaged the motherboard somehow. I enjoyed a few more days of seeing whether I reached my daily training target or not. And then when the battery died I set it aside, not knowing what I was going to do.
I could not purchase a replacement straight away as this was not considered an essential item. And only essential items were on sale during our level 5. I researched a cheaper version of the Apple Watch but realised that all the positive reviews came from sites that had affiliate links. The Apple Watch is super pricey, and not really a shape I like. And what I was missing the most was the daily alarm telling me it was 18h00 and time to feed the dogs, as well as the notification of who had messaged me. I don’t really need a smart watch as much as I need a fitness tracker. The fact that I could not go out and buy a new one straight away gave me the time to look at something I would love to wear.
