Eating in Montefalco
If you ever happen to be in this beautiful old city of Montefalco then you have to try L’Alchimista in the old city. Right on the square it is a beautiful location. On our plates was Bruschetta al Tartufo to start. I had braised veal cheek with wild saffron mashed potato and Dave had Potato Rosti with Pecorino and Ham. 1 espresso and 1 macchiato and the bill came to €24.
This village can be located in the central part of Perugia in Italy. I love Umbria and this town is close to the Clitunno river. We took a drive from Assisi and stopped off at this town where we struggled a bit to work out how the parking meters worked.
edit:
After this trip to Italy in 2010 I decided I needed to keep a better record of where we had been, and what we had done. In 2010 we visited Assisi. Our trip was made memorable by that unpronounceable volcano that closed the skies to all air traffic. We managed to fly the day they opened, and got back a few hours before the closed again. Every time I saw a contrail in the sky I felt relieved that we would be able to get home. Not that I would have objected to staying in Italy for a longer time.
Now look what you’ve done … made me go daydreaming!
this was one of the most beautiful old cities we went to 🙂
