Sherry did not have an IMK series in January 2022 so if you missed my post, please take a look here. I had Hannah with me for 2 weekends in January so we could bake together. She had fun making butter and ice cream, and then did a lot of colouring in. These moments with her are precious and I feel very blessed to have them.
Starting with savoury
With Hannah in mind I bought some hake fish cakes. I know I could make my own, but these are so good, and extremely convenient. As toppings I made two chutneys. One was roasted cherry tomato and the other, mint and coriander. They were the perfect addition to this very simple meal. I baked a whole wheat Cape seed loaf and made caper butter.
One new thing in my kitchen in January 2022
I loved all the old fashioned sweet shops in The Netherlands. We were sent to an amazing one in Delft, and I found one in Utrecht. Here I chose the lucky dip liquorice. All of them were sugar free, but not enough were of the salted variety for me.
This is my February submission to the #IMK series hosted by Sherry. Each month bloggers around the world gather to share what is new in their kitchens.
