Knife: Harry Hole 12, Jo Nesbo

Knife opening lines: A ragged dress was hanging from one branch of a rotting pine tree. It put the old man in mind of a song from his youth, about a dress on a washing line.

My blurb:

Harry cannot get it together. He and Rakel are no longer living together and he is firmly back on the wagon. His love affair with alcohol is all consuming. And now he is suffering from blackouts. But in his heart of hearts he does not believe he killed the woman he loved. Can he prove who committed this crime without fixating on one particular person?

A man like Harry had better watch his back… Following the dramatic conclusion of number one bestseller  The Thirst,  Knife  sees Harry Hole waking up with a ferocious hangover, his hands and clothes covered in blood. Not only is Harry about to come face to face with an old, deadly foe, but with his darkest personal challenge yet.

My verdict:

I have enjoyed the previous Harry Hole books that I have read but this one was not as good. It did not flow as well as the others which might have to do with the translation. The story line itself was OK but a bit disjointed in places. Unless you are a Jo Nesbo fan I would not add this to a list of books to buy.

  1. I enjoy a good thriller but haven’t heard of these. Tandy I know you work, and I enjoy your recipes and then you do book reviews as well. How do you find the time? You are such a busy lady.

    1. I read every evening without fail, and I spend about an hour a day on my blog. Thankfully I don’t have young children to worry about.

I would ♥ to hear from you (comments will be visible when I reply)
