Pirate, Clive Cussler And Robin Burcell

Pirate opening line: The first flurries of snow fell from the grey sky, the temperature plummeting as twilight deepened.

My blurb:
Following their adventure in The Tombs, Sam and Remi decide to take a vacation. Each one has planned a special adventure and Remi’s leads to them being chased by some really unsavoury characters. Turns out someone wants them dead. But Sam and Remi are resourceful and determined to solve the mystery of the hidden treasure. Their quest will take them from the United States down to South America and across to England. All the while trying to stay one step ahead of their adversary. Finding out exactly who that is, and who they can trust, is instrumental to them succeeding.
Pirate
An 800-year-old treasure…
An ancient cypher wheel…
A brutal murder…
And a man who will stop at nothing to claim what he considers rightfully his.
Husband-and-wife treasure-hunting team Sam and Remi Fargo have gone on impossible missions before and faced many perils, but never have they faced an adversary as determined as the one before them now. The battle will take them halfway around the world, and at its end will be either one of the most glorious finds in history-or certain death.
My verdict:

I love how the prologue sets the scene from the past. But I can see no reason for the list of characters at the start of the book as all that it does is confuse me. I read this in one day, ignoring everything else around me. A truly gripping book I can highly recommend.
