Rest In Peace Tata

Rest In Peace Tata: Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela 1918 – 2013. You led our nation towards democracy. Your blessing will be rewarded if we can maintain that.

Today, the world woke up to the loss of a hero. Our nation’s father, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, passed away on the 5th of December 2013. Today a nation mourns – Rest In Peace Tata – and we celebrate. We celebrate the life of a man who believed that we could all be free. That we could all live in peace, alongside one another. That we could leave our past behind us, and forge one nation. That we could co-exist without hatred and without prejudice.

I am proud to be a South African. I love my country and everything we have achieved. I hope that today we all take each other’s hands and remember the men and women who fought for what they believed in – a free and democratic South Africa. Today I pray for a man I never met, a men I respect and a man who touched the lives of many.

Go in peace Tata, may G-d open his arms to you and may we as a nation honour your memory by always striving to be better.
