September 2020 Showcasing In My Kitchen

September 2020 started with our on again, off again flights which I still have to blog about. I am waiting for the situation to resolve before I do so. However, I can tell you that on the 17th we decided to cancel our trip to Europe, making it the first time in 12 years we are not travelling. Life felt back to normal other than the wearing of masks. I am all for it if it keeps the nation healthy. That, together with sanitising everywhere we go has been of great benefit.

So, what sweet treats did I bake in September 2020?

Inspired by my niece who lives in Canberra, I made carrot muffins with a brown butter icing. There was also a chocolate yoghurt cake and poppy seed crackers.

On the sourdough front

I made a mixed flour bread and sour cream waffles.

Easy to make recipes

These included a mouth puckering lemon and thyme sorbet that does not require a churner, as well as roasted garlic butter.

One new thing In My Kitchen in September 2020

I was gifted these amazing vinegars from Vinegar Hills. Dave and I eat salad for lunch every day at work. I use my standard salad dressing recipe and the flavour is changed up nicely by using these vinegars.

Vinegar Hills

This is my October submission to the #IMK series, hosted by Sherry. Each month bloggers around the world gather to share what is new in their kitchens. Pop on over to her blog to take a peek.
