Justine Drake has worked in the food media industry since 1988 although she has been cooking since she was old enough to wield a wooden spoon. She has written 5 cookbooks and edited various magazines and supplements. She was editor of Eat In Magazine from 2006 to 2010 and helped the magazine win MPSA Pica awards in 2009. She is a frequent guest on numerous television and TV shows and her culinary travelogue Just in Africa aired globally and earning her the title of 11th most popular BBC chef worldwide. Justine is the launch editor of Pick n Pay’s Fresh Living magazine, the largest food and lifestyle in SA. Justine would love live on her farm, grow heirloom tomatoes and make wonderful bacon but fears the pace might not be fast enough.
‘ I eat and drink for living, so how bad can it be?!’ As long as you don’t take yourself, food or the media too seriously you’ll always have fun – and that, I think, is what life is all about.’
