The Ivy Inn
The Ivy Inn is a village pub located in the heart of the picturesque village of North Littleton. In winter expect warm open fires and in summer you can dine al fresco.
On a Monday and Tuesday evening, you can enjoy the most amazing curries. To start, Dave and I shared the Fish Pakora (£5.00) which was tender as advertised, and not too spicy. These were served with a mint yoghurt and chilli sauce. For the main course I went for the chef’s special of a chicken tikka masala (£9.50). The chicken was perfectly cooked and the portion was generous.
Create your own curry
I really liked this concept and Dave chose from this. You could have a simple curry cooked with ground herbs and spices; a balti which is an aromatic curry cooked in a spicy tomato and onion masala; jalfrezi which is tempered whole spices stir fried with peppers and chunks of onion; madras which is an aromatic curry cooked in a tomato based fiery hot sauce; korma, a rich curry cooked with coconut in a mild creamy sauce; or rogan josh which is cooked with fresh roasted spices, tomato, garlic and Kashmiri chillies. You then make a choice of the protein, either chicken, chicken tikka, lamb or prawns. Dave chose the lamb rogan josh (£10.50). To go with our curries we ordered plain naan (£2.00) and steamed rice (£2.50). For drinks Dave went with beer and I had cider.
For anyone travelling in the area I would highly recommend you visit The Ivy Inn for their curry evening. They also offer traditional pub food, and a Sunday roast. Contact them on +44 1386 834841 to make a booking.
