Lemon, Lime And Bitters

This cordial mix is so amazing, you will find any excuse to have a drink to use it.
Author: An original recipe from Lavender and Lime

  • Juice and zest of 1 lemon
  • Juice and zest of 1 lime
  • Sugar - I used fructose
  • 10 dashes Angasturo bitters or more to taste

  • Juice the lemon and lime into a measuring jug and make a note of the mls
  • Place into a saucepan
  • Weigh the sugar to be the same as the juice (i.e. if the juice measures 100mls you need 100g sugar)
  • Add to the juice and place the saucepan on a high heat
  • Stir to dissolve and then bring to the boil
  • Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes
  • Remove from the heat and add the zest
  • Leave to cool
  • Add the bitters and stir
  • Store in the fridge
  • Strain into a glass with water or soda water, adding enough for your taste buds, I like mine strong

Reduce the sugar by 10% if you don't want it sweet. This makes a very syrupy cordial.
