Bed And Breakfast Hoofddorp, The Netherlands
When looking for accommodation in The Netherlands for our last night I had a few requirements. We needed to be close to Schipol Airport to be there at 8am. It had to offer airport transfer. And we did not need a place that served breakfast. Using booking.com I came across Bed and Breakfast Hoofddorp. At the time I made my booking they only had one room with an en-suite bathroom and separate toilet. In the year between making the booking and staying there they had added two outside rooms with en-suite bathrooms. The garden is stunning and I could picture myself sitting there on a quiet morning enjoying a cup of coffee.

Our Room
The room is beautifully appointed with a bar fridge, fan, air conditioning and a place to put our suitcases. There is a writing desk with a Nespresso machine, a flat screen TV and plenty of guide books. We are provided with more than enough towels as well as one bathrobe. The shower is generous in size with great water pressure. The bed is massive and very comfortable which is welcome after 6 nights on the barge. Drinks, including wine, are free of charge.

Getting There
From Amsterdam main station catch a train to Hoofddorp. This is a twenty minute train ride making the area very accessible. Take the 145 bus from directly outside the train station and get off at the Beemsterstraat stop. You will have a short wait (ours was 10 minutes) and the bus ride is less than 10 minutes. Ask the driver to let you know when you get to the stop (they are very helpful like that). There is then a short walk to the bed and breakfast down Beetslaan.
From there
There is a shopping district within walking distance of the bed and breakfast. Around the area is a wide choice of restaurants. We had a wonderful dinner at Vrienden van Marktzicht, other than the fact we sat inside and it was far too hot.
Your hosts
Roland and Henriette are more than willing to assist in any way, and really nothing is too difficult for them. They even have bicycles for the guests to use. Roland was great in getting us to the airport in time, not minding the early start at all.
