Dave and I arrived earlier than the other guests at Oakhurst Guesthouse in Riversdale, which turned out to be a good thing. We were given a room at Oakhurst Guesthouse with a standard double bed, where one of the single guests had been given the room with the king size bed! This makes me wonder at how bookings are handled. Thankfully we were moved into the room with the bigger bed so that Dave and I did not have to be uncomfortable, and whoever was meant to be in that room still had a big enough bed. The guesthouse offers both Bed and Breakfast options and Self Catering but as we were there for a function being hosted by Baleia Bay Winery we did not get to experience the breakfast on offer as this was provided to us by La Bella Restaurant and Deli. Oakhurst has a swimming pool and ladies bar as well as braai (BBQ) facilities and secure parking.
The rooms come standard with a wall heater, an air conditioning unit as well as a ceiling fan. There is a TV with limited channels. Our room had a writing desk with chair, as well as a chair next to the window. In the room was a fridge, a plug in kettle (not cordless), mugs, glasses and complimentary tea and coffee. I would recommend bringing your own coffee if you are like me and a bit fussy about the coffee you drink. There was plenty of cupboard space in the room and a full length mirror. The cupboards had proper hangers, extra blankets, pool towels and a safe. The bathroom came standard with two bath towels, one hand towel and a small bar of hand soap. Our bathroom had both a shower and bath, but the smaller room we were meant to be in had only a shower.
The bedside tables had lamps that were more than adequate for reading. The bed was extremely comfortable and had 2 pillows per person as well as a cushion each. Oakhurst is an old house and there is some really nice artwork in the rooms. Wifi was free and the coverage was not too bad.

Sounds like a nice place – Tandy – glad you got the bed situation sorted – sometimes not even a king bed is big enough I find!
