25 Alive opening lines: Just after six that morning, Warren Jacobi, a sixty-year-old retired homicide lieutenant and former chief of police, parked his Ford F-150 within walking distance of one of the eastern entrances to Golden Gate Park.
My blurb:
Lindsay will do everything in her power to solve the murder of her friend, and former partner. He was forced into retirement despite putting a dirty cop into prison. And has now been found dead with the words “I said, You dead” close to his body. This is just one link in the chain to catch his killer. But while Lindsay is dealing with this, she also has to cope with her husband Joe being missing in action. Can she focus to avenge Jacobi’s murder?
25 Alive
Sergeant Lindsay Boxer’s friend and former partner is brutally murdered in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park.SFPD homicide detective Lindsay Boxer knows her way around a crime scene. But nothing can prepare her for the shock of recognition: the victim is Warren Jacobi, Lindsay’s former partner who rose to chief of police.A top detective until the end, Jacobi managed to leave Lindsay a clue.Following a trail of evidence along the west coast, the Women’s Murder Club pledges to avenge Jacobi’s death before the killer can take another one of their own.
My verdict:
I think Maxine Paetro writes extremely well, and I am getting used to figuring out who each chapter focuses on, as the Women’s Murder Club consists of four members. Another good read, and I am waiting for the next installment to know Joe is OK.

TBH, this series of Lindsay Boxer is pretty lame…interesting that Jacobi is the victim here. Alex Cross and Michael Bennett series are much better.
Thank you for your feedback. I have not read them all, but the series does fill up the time 🙂
This sounds good but I just can’t face this sort of story in our current environment.
I can relate!
I’m not so big on murder mysteries, but I’ll read absolutely anything if it’s written well. I’ll check it out!
Let me know if you read this 🙂
