Anatomy Of A Scandal opening line: My wig slumps on my desk where I have tossed it.
My blurb:
Kate has one job and that it to make sure James Whitehouse is found guilty of rape. This case is going to dredge up memories for her. And for Sophie, James’s wife. Sophie and James dated while in Oxford and during that time something terrible happened. Sophie and Kate have kept their secrets from then. But all of that is about to surface with catastrophic repercussions.
Anatomy Of A Scandal
You want to believe your husband. She wants to destroy him.
Anatomy of a Scandal centres on a high-profile marriage that begins to unravel when the husband is accused of a terrible crime. Sophie is sure her husband, James, is innocent and desperately hopes to protect her precious family from the lies which might ruin them. Kate is the barrister who will prosecute the case – she is equally certain that James is guilty and determined he will pay for his crimes.
A high-profile marriage thrust into the spotlight. A wife, determined to keep her family safe, must face a prosecutor who believes justice has been a long time coming. A scandal that will rock Westminster. And the women caught at the heart of it.
My verdict:
Some books just seem to tick all the boxes, and this is one of them. An extremely well written novel that moved seamlessly from the past to the present. The book highlights just how difficult it is to accuse someone of rape when they are known to you. I can highly recommend you add this to your list of books to read.
