Blood Ties opening lines: Everybody has their weak spot. Dad drummed that into me when he taught me to box.
My blurb:
Roy has been cleaning up Carl’s messes for as long as he can remember. It started off out of guilt, and carried on out of necessity. But Carl has crossed a line, and this has brought Kurt Olsen the evidence he needs to convict Roy. Can Roy continue living in Os and running his businesses the way he wants to? Or will the murders he has committed finally come home to imprison him? Will Roy be able to live with the person he became because other people pushed him to be who he now is?
Blood Ties
Brothers Carl and Roy Opgard have succeeded in life. Or at least they’ve had as much success as is possible in a small town like Os, where they’ve killed their way to the top. Carl manages the swanky spa hotel, while Roy has made ambitious plans for an amusement park.Life’s good at the top. But the local sheriff is looking to bring them down. Sheriff Kurt Olsen believes he has new evidence that will prove the brothers’ involvement in several past murders – but Carl and Roy are used to covering their tracks, and they’re not afraid to get their hands dirty. The body count of Os is about to get even higher.
My verdict:
It is always good to know what happens next, and this is a great follow on from The Kingdom. If you are a fan of Jo Nesbo, or just enjoy reading a book with a few murders in it, this novel is for you.
Blood Ties is an explosive suspense novel about family, loyalty, and what someone is willing to do for both.

I have been a longtime reader of Nesbo, especially the Harry Hole series…I send each new one directly to my Mom to read first and then when I see her she gives it to me….our own mini book club!
that is a lovely book club! My mom and I do it the other way round 🙂
I’ve never read any of Nesbo’s books, but I am intrigued by your review and you got me interested. Thanks.. Will get a copy.
I enjoy his writing, but I know it is not for everyone, so please let me know what you think!
