I wish I had the time to blog about our experiences eating in Sienna, and elsewhere in Italy. I do however have a blog about our next visit to Italy in 2013.
Sienna must be one of the most beautiful old cities I have ever been to. After walking through the streets and around the area of the annual horse race and taking lots of photographs we needed to get some nourishment. We found a quaint restaurant just outside the old walls – Ristorante Imaestri. We started with 2 antipasti of local ingredients – one was a potato dish which they make daily and the other was a cauliflower soufflé. After that I had Pici Al Funghi Al Ragu for my mains and Dave had Lasagna. We both had dessert of baked egg custard tiramisu’s. We shared a bottle of Chiani Colle Senesi, a local red wine. The owners spoke not a word of English but the waiter did and he and Dave chatted about all sorts of things. The bill came to €40, and was well worth every cent. I would stay in Sienna again, but choose a different hotel as the one we stayed in was not great. This photo was taken with my cell phone!

Fab pic and the souffle sounds like something I want to try!
the city was so lovely! I am going to get some more pics up some day ….
