Honest Illusions, Nora Roberts

Honest Illusions opening lines: The lady vanishes. It was an old illusion, given a modern twist, and never failed to leave the audience gasping.

Honest Illusions

My blurb:

Luke Callahan is determined to leave the past where it belongs, in the past. He has escaped from cruelty and neglect and he wants to make it on his own. Taken under the wing of a master magician, he learns the art of magic, as well as theft. But love means more than both of those, and he gives up everything for a second time. When he comes back to complete one last task and realizes he left more than just love behind.

Honest Illusions

Roxy Nouvelle understands the art of deception. The daughter of a world-renowned magician, Roxy has inherited her father’s talents – and his secret life as a jewel thief. She loves the thrill of the game and can take care of herself.
Roxy is smart and resilient, but she has one weakness: Luke Callahan, a sexy escape artist with a roguish reputation. Five years ago they fell into a passionate affair – but then, true to his art – he disappeared, leaving Roxy broken hearted and furious.
Now Luke is back, trailing secrets and danger in his wake. Why did he run out on Roxy all those years ago? And can she ever trust him again?

My verdict:

A wonderful love story and family and life. A light hearted read that I can recommend if you just want an escape from it all.

  1. I love reading books. I use to take time to read atleast 1 novel a week. But after corona the library was closed and now its just few months left to graduate so have lot of studies. But I have a list of books that I want to read, have added this book in the list. Thanks Tandy..

  2. Thanks, Tandy. I love book recommendations. I’ve read a few Nora Roberts books, isn’t she the most prolific writer?
