Never Say Die, James Patterson

Never Say Die opening lines: Jimmy Cunniff and I are inside the shooting range at the Maidstone Gun Club a little after seven in the morning.

Never Say Die

My blurb:

Jane Smith has four months to live and she is battling on a few fronts. One is against her cancer, which is being treated very aggressively. And the other is for her client, who does not do anything to help his case. He insists on being the violent person the world believes he is. And he does not do anything to help himself. Then there is the mobster who seems to not want Rob, her client, to be found guilty. But Sonny will not let Jane use his testimony to prove her client’s innocence. Can Jane beat all the demons and her cancer?

Never Say Die
Since taking on a famous celebrity client, defence attorney Jane Smith has been chased down, shot at, and threatened with contempt of court.
She’s a survivor. For now.
Jane Smith represents a Hamptons real estate mogul with more enemies than clients.
When Jane’s own life is threatened, mounting a legal defence turns into selfdefence.
Knowing every day in court could be her last, she’s armed and ready: with brilliant arguments, hard evidence – and two Glocks.
Until she hears the words “not guilty,” Jane Smith will  Never Say Die.
My verdict:

I managed to get through this novel, co-authored by Mike Lupica, in one week. The book was as good as the first two in the series, with hints of a fourth one to come. You can pick this up and read it without reading the other two, but I don’t recommend it, as part of the story is intertwined with the other novels.

    1. Yes, some of the themes are repetitive! I have read a book this week of his that was really good. But my OH has stopped reading his novels.

I would ♥ to hear from you (comments will be visible when I reply)
