She Didn’t See It Coming, Shari Lapena

She Didn’t See It Coming opening lines: Bryden Frost is running late. She has to pick up her daughter, Clara, from day care within the next few minutes or she will get a reprimand and a lateness fee.

She Didn't See It Coming

My blurb:

To others, Bryden has it all. The successful, good looking husband, a job that takes her away for work and a cute daughter, full of life. They live in an upmarket area, with mostly good neighbours. She has a sister who will be there for her, even if she is not the favourite. And a best friend who most certainly is the favourite. But when Bryden is murdered everyone looks to the husband, until fingers are pointed everywhere, but in the right direction.

She Didn’t See It Coming
Bryden and Sam have it all: thriving careers, a smart apartment in a luxury condo, supportive friends and a cherished daughter. The perfect life for the perfect couple.
Then Sam receives a call at his office. Bryden – working from home that day – has failed to collect their daughter from daycare.
Arriving home with their little girl, he finds his wife’s car in the underground garage. Upstairs in their apartment her laptop is open on the table, her cell phone nearby, her keys in their usual place in the hall.
Except Bryden is nowhere to be seen. It’s as if she just walked out.
How can she have disappeared from her own home? And did she even leave the building at all?
My verdict:

Like all of Shari Lapena’s books, this one was well written, and well constructed. I had an inkling as to who the murderer was, but, the way it was revealed was excellent. A perfect read for those of you who like a good twist in the plot
