Use A Savoury Ingredient In The Sweet Challenge
I love that you can use a savoury ingredient to make something sweet. Sorry everyone, but this week it is going to be a difficult challenge! Well, difficult for people who cannot think out of the box and move savoury ingredients into the sweet category. The challenge is to bake something sweet using a traditionally savoury ingredient. If you do this challenge, please link back to my blog, and leave me a comment so that I can include you in the round up. I love fennel for the aniseed flavour and for how easy it is to grow. So this week I will be using fennel in a sweet way in my cake batter. What savoury ingredient will you use to come up with something sweet? I am sure we can all think of carrot cake, and beetroot cake so let us move away from those two ingredients and come up with something unusual and unexpected. I have seen recipes for sweet dishes using sweet potatoes which is something I would also like to try.
