Better Off Dead opening line: The stranger got into position under the streetlight at eleven p.m., as agreed.
This time, Reacher has found himself at the wrong place at the right time. Or maybe the right place at the wrong time. One can never be quite certain with Jack. But what one can be sure of is that he will do all he can to kelp Michaela Fenton find her brother.
Better Off Dead
Reacher never backs down from a problem. And he’s about to find a big one, on a deserted Arizona road, where a Jeep has crashed into the only tree for miles around. Under the merciless desert sun, nothing is as it seems.Minutes later Reacher is heading into the nearby border town, a backwater that has seen better days. Next to him is Michaela Fenton, an army veteran turned FBI agent, who is trying to find her twin brother. He might have got mixed up with some dangerous people. And Reacher might just need to pay them a visit.Their leader has burrowed his influence deep into the town. Just to get in and meet the mysterious Dendoncker, Reacher is going to have to achieve the impossible. To get answers will be even harder. There are people in this hostile, empty place who would rather die than reveal their secrets. But then, if Reacher is coming after you, you might be better off dead.
If you are a lover of the Jack Reacher books then be sure to add this to your reading list. And if you have never read one Lee Child book, well, this is as a good a place as any to start.

I’ve read a number of his books, usually while on holiday. Just like your recipes, they don’t disappoint.
Thank you for the compliment Sheree 🙂
For some reason my reply was posted « label » but I have no idea why?
That is so weird! WordPress sometimes has a mind of its own.
Thanks for sharing about this book, Tandy. I’ll ask my mom if she has this one.
If she enjoys Reacher, she will love this one 🙂
I’ve read a few of the Jack Reacher books, and enjoyed all of them. I know Lee Child has handed the franchise over to his brother, sounds like his brother has done a good job.
We also enjoyed the first season of Reacher on Amazon…
They are co-writing at present as far as I can tell, but I am sure it is to extend the longevity of Reacher.
