Curried, Cariema Isaacs

Curried is an homage to one of the world’s most beloved and versatile dishes and is inspired by Cariema Isaacs’ memories of the slow-cooked Cape Malay curries of her childhood, as well as the fast-paced landscape of the Middle East, where she now lives.

Curried

Curried  embodies a culinary curiosity and global consciousness for the times. Mindful of both environmental responsibility and affordability, Cariema celebrates the nourishing comfort of pulses and legumes in a multitude of wholesome and delicious vegetarian curries for everyday cooking.
For special occasions, there are meat and seafood curries from around the globe. Rice and condiments are not overlooked, and there is also a selection of breads, as well as delectable desserts. Cariema’s love of writing is evident on every page, making this carefully-crafted and beautifully-photographed book both a pleasure to read as well as to cook from.

What I made:

I first turned to this book when I made marmalade as that needed bread to go with it. The Cape seed loaf was the perfect vehicle for my marmalade and Dave and I enjoyed the bread for work day lunches. In one go I made the mint and coriander chutney, the roasted cherry tomato chutney and the minty yoghurt dressing. The tomato chutney was so good, and this type of recipe will be repeated often in my kitchen for sure.

  1. I love a good comforting curry, and this book has a wonderful collection of recipes. I have your tomato chutney put aside for when cherry tomatoes are a good price here.

    1. a food, dish, or sauce in Indian cuisine seasoned with a mixture of pungent spices (I had to ask the google machine to get it exact)

I would ♥ to hear from you (comments will be visible when I reply)
