My verdict:
I am not sure if I would read another of Sheena Kamal’s novels. I found the narrative to be too disjointed. The story line itself was good but could have been written more fluidly. I would not rush out to buy this book. If you have read this novel and have a different opinion to mine, please let me know in the comments below.

Hi Tandy, I admire the fact that you are truthful re the book you reviewed. It sounds cruel for the author, of course, and it is always a matter of taste…BUT in the long run, it is better that writers hear truthful adverse opinions about their books if they’re going to improve should the criticisms be worthy ones. Most of us read a book we don’t like every now and then, and if the author is a friend or family member, it really puts us on the spot. It must be remembered though that even award winning books are not liked or approved of by EVERYONE! We have to grow thicker skins…Best wishes. Joy x
It is so hard to review books written by people you know. But for my readers I feel I owe them the truth. And after a while of reading my reviews people will know if we have the same or similar tastes.
The story line sounds quite interesting, Tandy. Your comments about lack of flow would stop me buying this book, though. I also don’t like fragmented writing.
I would not recommend you buy it.
