Here One Moment opening lines: Later, not a single person will recall seeing the lady board the flight at Hobart Airport.
My blurb:
Cherry Lockwood is not who she seems to be. She is definitely not a clairvoyant, even though her mother made a living by telling people’s fortunes. And for sure not psychic, even though some of her mumblings come true. She is however an old woman who is grieving, and a little bit out of it. But the people she talks to on the plane believe she can see their deaths, or the deaths of their loved ones. While some of them do everything to avoid that, others take advantage of her very weird actions.
Here One Moment
We’re all so busy, caught up in life’s moments, big and small – The flight attendant working a shift on her birthday. The mother struggling alone with two young children. The newlyweds excited about their tropical honeymoon . The overworked father missing his kid’s big show. The young man returning from his best friend’s funeral. The ER nurse wondering what retirement will bring. All strangers. All unsuspecting. Each with a life heading in a particular direction – or so they imagine. Because an elderly woman is about to step into each of their paths. In just a few words, she will make a prediction, causing the most ordered of lives to unravel in the most unexpected of ways…
My verdict:
I really enjoyed reading about how people’s lives can be so intertwined without them realizing it. This was a lovely story to read, one that shows you how irrational we can behave when confronted with death. A lovely novel from Liane Moriarty.

Read an extract:
Later, not a single person will recall seeing the lady board the flight at Hobart Airport.
Nothing about her appearance or demeanour raises a red flag or even an eyebrow.
She is not drunk or belligerent or famous.
She is not injured, like the bespectacled hipster with his arm scaffolded in white gauze so that one hand is permanently pressed to his heart, as if he’s professing his love or honesty.
