When looking for the perfect place to stay, close to the airport in Naples, Hotel Palazzo Argenta ticked all of the boxes.

This newly built, 3 star hotel was ideally situated for us in the Secondigliano district of Naples. We needed to be a close bus ride to the airport as we had an early flight. And we needed somewhere comfortable to get a good night’s sleep before our very long travelling day ahead. This Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western is on Corso Secondigliano, the main street in this area. And a short 3 minute walk from the bus stop. The rooms are all en-suite with a large shower, and have a flat screen TV, air conditioning, Wi-Fi and a bar fridge. Dave and I were in room 116 and it was perfectly adequate for our needs. The queen size bed was comfortable and our room had a small balcony with double glazed glass doors.
Things to keep in mind
There is no room service, and breakfast was served too late for us to enjoy. Had we known that Pasticceria Galiero, which is next door was open at 6am, we would have had coffee there before making our way to the airport. The reception is locked when no-one is on duty. This meant we had to figure out how to leave the complex. I pushed a button on the gate, which opened thankfully so we could leave. The reception were terrible at responding to emails but were very helpful in person. There is no on-site parking and the closest (paid for) parking is 350m away. I would suggest that if you have a hire car you take it back the day you check in to the hotel.
Bus 180
From the airport you will walk straight up Viale Ruffo Fulco di Calabria. You have to cross the road after the traffic circle to get onto the bus heading towards PISCINOLA at RUFFO DI CALABRIA – AEROPORTO. Bus 180 runs once every 60 minutes and Dave and I just missed it! We ended up going back to the car hire, in the rain, to get coffee. And caught the bus from MADDALENA – AEROPORTO CIVILE. Ride 12 stops from the airport and get off at SECONDIGLIANO – ASPROMONTE. To get back to the airport you will get on at SECONDIGLIANO – QUADRIVIO ARZANO. Use Google Maps to see what time the bus leaves and be at least 5 minutes early.

HI Tandy, the parking issue is endemic throughout Europe and Britain. We’ve experienced it too. At least you got a good night’s sleep.
Funnily enough, we have never had an issue in Britain with parking 🙂
years ago in Rome we stayed at a dodgy hotel near the railway station (from memory). Reception was … interesting.

Its good to know – thanks.. Many places in Napes are very less than average. We were just in Naples but on a cruise so we did not need a hotel.
This hotel was really perfect for an airport transfer 🙂
