The Murder Inn opening lines: Nick Jones’s fellow soldiers were lying to him. They’d never done it before, and Nick knew that for one simple reason: because he wasn’t dead.
My blurb:
Shauna Bulger will not be thought of as frail. Or needy for that matter. And she will do anything and everything it takes to not be put into a nursing home. But her choices drag in Bill Robinson. And where he is involved, so are the motley crew that make up the permanent guests at his Inn. What choices will he make, and which side of the law will he stand on?
The Murder Inn
It’s the perfect getaway. But the past will always find you . . .When ex-cop Bill Robinson takes over The Inn by the Sea, all he wants is a quiet escape from the city. But when a crime boss moves into town and begins terrorising Bill’s friends, he can’t just sit back and watch. It’s not long before local criminals are turning up dead and The Inn comes under attack. With the help of The Inn’s fearless residents, Bill must do everything he can to defend his town, his chosen family, and his home.
My verdict:
I loved that book had so many stories converging into one. And that each one played a part in the horrific result. But the ending gave hope to lives well lived. A great read from Candice Fox and James Patterson.
About the Author:
James Patterson is one of the best-known and biggest-selling writers of all time. His books have sold in excess of 300 million copies worldwide and he has been the most borrowed author in UK libraries for the past nine years in a row.
He is the author of some of the most popular series of the past two decades – the Alex Cross, Women’s Murder Club, Detective Michael Bennett and Private novels – and he has written many other number one bestsellers including romance novels and stand-alone thrillers.
Read an extract:
NICK JONES’S FELLOW SOLDIERS WERE lying to him. They’d never done it before, and Nick knew that for one simple reason: because he wasn’t dead. He could rely on one thing out there in the desert in Afghanistan, and that was the word of his team-mates. Without that trust, without a team behind him, promising to protect him, Nick was alone. And a soldier alone was just waiting to catch a bullet in the brain.

I have lots of books from James Patterson in my Kindle…haven’t read this one yet. Currently I am reading Peter James’ Roy Grace series.
I need to read that series!
As a huge thriller/ crime fan, this book sounds right up my alley. I’m not familiar with these authors, but I’ve got some sort of old school vibe – need to look into their books.
I am sure you will enjoy this!
Hi Tandy, I can relate to this little old lady as I am going through this same reluctance with my aunt although we have reached a point where a care home must happen. A book that does interest me. Thanks for the review.
It sounds like the best solution all round!
