Blowback, James Patterson

Blowback opening line: It is a brisk autumn day in June in one of South Africa’s largest cities, and thirty-year-old Benjamin Lucas is enjoying an off day from his South African Diamond Tour.

Blowback

My blurb:

The President has a hit list, and a hit squad at his beck and call. He will do anything and everything he can to ensure a world shift in power. But little does he know that there are two women who do not trust him. And they will go to any lengths to make sure he is stopped.

Blowback
He’s America’s most brilliant president ever. He’s also a psychopath.
US president Keegan Barrett swept into office on his success as director of the CIA. Six months into his first term, he devises a clandestine power grab with a deadly motive: Revenge.
President Barrett personally orders Special Agents Liam Grey and Noa Himel to execute his plan, but their loyalties are divided. As CIA agents they’ve sworn to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all threats, both foreign and domestic.
When the threat comes directly from the Oval Office, that’s where the blowback begins.
My verdict:

If ever a person with a desire to kill gets into power, the world will be in real danger. Kind of like it is now with Putin ….. An interesting read from James Patterson and Brendan DuBois. Most enjoyable were the parts of Johannesburg I know from growing up there. However, the sci-fi bits just seemed too far fetched for me.

    1. I stopped reading Stephen King ages ago. The concept of flying from the USA to SA in 2 hours is just beyond any realistic imagination imo 🙂

I would ♥ to hear from you (comments will be visible when I reply)
