I had an abundance of citrus fruit in my basket and did not want to see it go to waste. I had intended to make fresh juice, but every day something else seemed to get in the way of that happening. Eventually I decided to make a batch of dried oranges to use to decorate my mocha tart.

For years while training at the gym I would walk on the treadmill. And then when we created our home gym I started walking around our neighbourhood. But when we went into hard lockdown we were not allowed to walk anywhere! And the habit was lost. I am still doing cardio training so that part of my fitness regime is on track. On Easter Monday I went for a 2 kilometre walk. This was not challenging as it was a short downhill section followed by a long level road to the kids house. I was wearing the sandals I always wear, whether we are at home or overseas. And when we are overseas they do a lot of mileage as we tend to walk everywhere we can. I managed the walk in just over 21 minutes, keeping up a good, steady pace and cadence.

On Tuesday morning when I woke up I realised the muscles around my shins were taking strain. I set that aside while doing my warmup and stretch routine. And as we were home late that evening I did not do my stepper training. When I got the Mall on Wednesday I realized just how much those muscles were aching. I really battled to walk, using the trolley as an aid. It was quite funny in hindsight as this is an entire muscle group I am not working. Thankfully we were not overseas when this happened as I doubt Dave would have given me the three days I needed to get over the pain. It has also set me on a mission to add a decent walk to my regime. Now I need to find someone like minded as it is a bit boring walking by myself.

Do you walk as part of your exercise regime?
Now that the weather is warmer, I hope to get back to my walking routine. It will be a ncie change from riding my stationary bike. I am sure I will be a bit sore after the first few walks…
And I have to confess I’ve only done one walk since Easter!
So pretty. These would be especially pretty at Christmas time!
Indeed they would. I used them to pretty up a savoury duck dish for a dinner party.
I have a sevilla orange tree and these would be a nice way to use those oranges as i often struggle
How amazing to have you very own orange tree. I so want a citrus tree in our garden 🙂
