Book Review: Ghost, James Swallow

Ghost opening line: The panic filled him.

Ghost

My blurb:

Marc Dane is part of an elite group of people. They are employed by Rubicon and act under the radar. Their main aim is to thwart Columbine. But along the way a group of hackers known as Ghost5 becomes their target. Kara Wei is part of Rubicon, or is she? And can Marc and his team stop Madrigal in time?

Ghost

From the Sunday Times bestselling author of Nomad and Exile comes Marc Dane’s most terrifying case yet.

A terrible threat from the depths of the dark net.

A devastating betrayal at the heart of a covert strike force.

A deadly pursuit across a digital battlefield.

A ruthless terrorist fuelled by revenge.

As devastating attacks unfold across the globe, Marc Dane must call on all his skills and ingenuity to track down the mysterious figure behind it all — a faceless criminal known only as “Madrigal”.

Before they plunge the world into war…

My verdict:

Having not read the book before this, it was a bit difficult to pick up on the story line, which I found to be just above average. The grammar errors in the book irked me slightly. But what bothered me more than that was the change of reference. James Swallow goes from calling his main character Marc in some places, and Dane in others. It was a good read but I would suggest you start from the beginning.
