Keep You Close opening lines: The woman jolts awake, gasping, heart pounding. Gunshots echo in her head, ones conjured in sleep.
My blurb:
When Steph decided to become an FBI agent she promised herself she would be the best. And being the best put her, and her son in danger. So the next promise she made was that Zach would be safe. But when she finds a gun in his cupboard she has to decide. Be a great FBI agent, and keep her country safe. Or be a great mom and keep her son safe. Will she make the right choice, for the right reasons and still keep her job?
Keep You Close
A strange sensation runs through me, a feeling that I don’t know this person in front of me, even though he matters more to me than anyone ever has, than anyone ever will. You go into your son’s bedroom. It’s the usual mess. You tidy up some dirty plates, pick up some clothes, open the wardrobe to put them away. That’s when you find it. Something so shocking it doesn’t seem real. And you realize a horrifying truth…Your own son might be dangerous.
My verdict:
I was hooked from page 1 of this novel, and my attention was kept until the end. I could never have guessed the truth of this story. And it is for that reason I can highly recommend this book written by Karen Cleveland.
