Ristorante Pizzeria Il Maneggio
Dave and I were on our way from Agrigento to Siracusa, in Sicily, when we stopped for the night. Situated 11km outside of Licata is the seaside village of Falconara Sicula. We spent the night at a local hotel and needed to dine out. Along Strada Statale 115 is Ristorante Pizzeria Il Maneggio. Dave and I wanted a typical Sicilian meal so we chose to eat supper there. We dined al fresco, with the Castle in close proximity. Over the years we have learnt to enjoy the local fare which helps make for memorable meals. To start off, we chose to have a 500ml carafe of the vino della casa (€5.50).

Our meal
No matter where you dine in Italy, service is impeccable. People take pride in their jobs. Our waiter could not speak English, but my Italian sufficed to get our meal ordered. As Ristorante Pizzeria Il Maneggio specializes in seafood, we chose a seafood platter to start. We had the antipasto misto mare specialità della casa (€14.50) to share. There was a great variety of seafood with a very tasty calamari salad. Dave chose spaghetti alle vongole (€12.50) for his main meal. This is his usual choice, and it was excellent. I had tortelloni da casa con ricotta e spinaci al burro e salvia (€12.50). Ricotta is traditional to Sicily and with the spinach, the filling was really tasty. However, the pasta was very thick and I left most of it.

I will meet you there!
Don’t you just love dining al fresco on a warm day? Like Dave, I’d have chosen the spaghetti alle vongole. Sicily is on our travel list and I’ve noted Ristorante Pizzeria Il Maneggio in the event we make it to that area.
I look forward to reading about your visit to Sicily 🙂
