Sticks And Stones opening line: I expected to feel free, unburdened, but when the curtains close around Phillip Rochester’s satin-lined coffin, all I feel is indigestion.
My blurb:
Imogen feels she will never feel free of her hopefully soon to be ex-husband. Phillip is still in control, even though he has left her. He will not meet her demands for a divorce, instead he comes up with his own. Phillip will go to extremes to get what he wants. But a chance encounter with his mistress changes everything.
Sticks And Stones
How far would you go for revenge on your ex?Imogen’s husband is a bad man. His ex-wife and his new mistress might have different perspectives but Imogen thinks she knows the truth. And now he’s given her an ultimatum: get out of the family home in the next fortnight or I’ll fight you for custody of our son.In a moment of madness, Imogen does something unthinkable. Something that puts her in control. But how far will she go to protect her son and punish her husband? And what will happen when his ex and his girlfriend get tangled up in her plans?
My verdict:
I really enjoyed this book by first time novelist Jo Jakeman. It made for an excellent read and the plot came together perfectly. I was sent a proof copy and found only one error: page 330: I was getting the next plain to Spain to see my son.
