The Impossible Fortune opening lines: They show you how to make bombs on the internet. If you know where to look.
My blurb:
Elizabeth has not been her normal self for quite some time. But, with everyone occupied with their own lives, she is finally ready to be a part of the gang again. Only because a mystery landed on her lap, rather than her seeking it out. Can she solve this impossible fortune conundrum without getting herself killed?
The Impossible Fortune
Who’s got time to think about murder when there’s a wedding to plan? It’s been a quiet year for the Thursday Murder Club. Joyce is busy with table plans and first dances. Elizabeth is grieving. Ron is dealing with family troubles, and Ibrahim is still providing therapy to his favourite criminal. But when Elizabeth meets a wedding guest who fears for their life, the thrill of the chase is ignited once again. A villain wants access to an uncrackable code and will stop at nothing to get it. Plunged back into their most explosive investigation yet, can the gang solve the puzzle and a murder in time?
My verdict:
I might have missed a book in the Thursday Murder Club Mystery series, as some things did not make sense to me in this book. And, if that is the case for anyone else picking this up to read, they may be just as confused. I really enjoyed the previous book I had read from this series. And even though the story line was excellent, I could not hold the personal story threads together in my head.
Read an extract:
Joyce
It’s been a while since I wrote, I know that. You must have been wondering where I’d got to? Run away to the Bahamas perhaps?
It’s just that I’ve been so busy with the wedding, that I haven’t had time to think. It’s been a whirlwind.

That’s an interesting cover for a murder book.
Would you read it based on the cover alone?
My mother did not enjoy this book although she’s enjoyed other books by Richard Osman’s.
I am with your mom, this was not his best work IMO!
I saw the movie. Perhaps they will make one from the book you just read and maybe it will make more sense.
Maybe?
Hi Tandy, you do love mystery books. I do not know that serie but I started reading again my Agatha Christie books a few weeks ago and I cannot put them down 🙂 Wishing you a lovely Easter weekend, ~Nessa
Our local second hand bookstore had some collectible AC books in – you would have loved those I am sure 🙂
Sounds like one I’ll probably have to pass on; I get confused too easily in real life!
That was me all of last month!
I got this one from NetGalley, but have yet to start it. Considering that I have not read the previous books, this doesn’t bode well. I enjoy mystery series, but not when each can’t be read as a stand alone.
I would be so interested to know your take on this! Thanks for leaving a comment Pattie 🙂
