It is time for International Scone Week 2025! My recipe for olive oil scones is the most popular recipe on my blog. Created in 2017 for this occasion, it still gets over 2500 views a year.

A little bit about this
Starting in 2011, bloggers around the world gathered to make scones. To see how they came together, take a look at Celia’s post. She is the original hostess of this baking extravaganza, and if you want to read more about saving the planet or baking bread, head on over to her blog.

Who doesn’t love a scone?
Hope you will add your favourite!
My husband loves scones with some homemade jam for his breakfast!
Lucky hubby if you make that for him 🙂
Isn’t it so funny what recipes just randomly take off? My most popular one is… Stir-fried cabbage. Seriously. Of all the things.
Anyway, scones are marvelous and I love the way you dedicate a week to them!
I like the idea of stir fried cabbage! But as you say, what an interesting recipe to be your most popular one 🙂
Well, you are surely teaching me a scone is not a scone is not a scone 🙂 ! So many possible taste variations and walnut and blue cheese sounds very, very inviting 🙂 !
One recipe I am sharing this year is nothing like one would expect a scone to be 🙂
I love scones and its been ages since I made some – thanks Tandy, I am so glad I saw this post, think I might join the scone party Aug 11th-17th!
I really hope you do!
I’ll see if I can bake this weekend. It’s hectic at the moment with Michael’s matric dance around the corner and then exams.
I don’t know what is worse for a mother – the matric dance, or the exams? Good luck with both 🙂
I love scones, but I am not making them anytime soon. Whenever I do I ma going to try your olive oil scones.
Please let me know how they work out for you 🙂
You have shared so many variations of scones over the years, a truly amazing accompaniment.
I hope you will take part!
Thanks Tandy, I will send myself a reminder for the 11th August. I am ready to go:) I love scones. Pauline

Oops, I thought it was in October. Was just trying to find out if I missed it – ha ha! I still haven’t tried your olive oil scones but I’ve been meaning to for a very long time now. Everyone’s scones look so delicious.
Thanks, and if you do post a recipe at any stage, please link up!
