Night School, Lee Child | Book Review

Night School opening line: In the morning they gave Reacher a medal, and in the afternoon they sent him back to school.

Night School

My blurb

Jack Reacher, an army major, is expected to work in conjunction with one member of the CIA and one member of the FBI. They have been given the needle in the haystack but now they need to find the haystack. Can one overheard statement be extrapolated to an entire conversation? In his usual methodical way can Jack find the answer?

Night School

In the morning, they gave Reacher a medal. And in the afternoon, they sent him back to school.

Night School  takes Reacher back to his army days, but this time he’s not in uniform. With trusted sergeant Frances Neagley at his side, he must carry the fate of the world on his shoulders, in a wired, fiendishly clever new adventure that will make the cold sweat trickle down your spine.

My verdict:

This is the 21st novel in the Jack Reacher series. It is set in 1999 which is in the past if you are reading the novels in the order they were published. If you aim to start reading these thrillers from the start, you could slot this into the correct time line. I love how Lee Child constructs his sentences so that you are caught up in the novel from the very first line. I have read every one of the books and managed this from cover to cover in 12 hours. Highly recommended whether you have come across these books or not as each story is self contained.

  1. LOVE the Reacher series and have read them all so far. I can’t believe how badly they miscast the movie version of Never Give Up – Tom Cruise is no Jack Reacher! IMHO

I would ♥ to hear from you (comments will be visible when I reply)
