September 2026 Showcasing In My Kitchen

September 2026 had a lot of highs and few lows! Holly needed to have her ears seen to under sedation, and I had to fetch her from the vet early as she was too noisy! She was fine when tagging along with Bruce, but not OK when caged. She has a follow up appointment this weekend, and not too soon as she has hurt her paw! Dave and I went overseas, and I am still trying to blog about the end of our trip which was spent in Paris. I want to give a special shout out to an amazing blogging friend who I met IRL in Paris. I will leave it up to her to share about us meeting, but thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you did!. This is a friendship I will hold dear for the rest of my life.

Recipes from my blog in September 2026

I am not sure how I will ever get back on track with creating recipes and blogging about them. But for now, these are the ones I shared last month. I made a tipsy tart, chapati, and Durban curry from Timeless South African. And going back into my archives, I shared a recipe for quinoa salad dressing. I made a batch of panettone rusks for friends who came to visit in July, and whipped up some confit chickpea hummus and sour cream flatbreads for a quick weekend lunch.

Spotted in France

Usually here you would find something new in my kitchen. But, we were overseas for most of the month, and there is nothing new I needed. But, because we are all foodies here, I am sharing a photo from La Grande Épicerie de Paris. I spent a lot of time at the one in Rue de Sèvres but this is from the fish counter at the store in Rue de Passy, which is close to where we stayed in France.

September 2026

This is my October submission to the #IMK series hosted by Sherry. Each month bloggers around the world gather to share what is new in their kitchens.

  1. Gosh that seafood looks good! As usual, so much deliciousness in your kitchen. How wonderful that you caught up with Nancy – having an IMK rendezvous with her in Paris is high on my travel bucket list 🙂

  2. You have really been busy! It’s startling that October is here. Where did the time go? Where does it ever go? Those panettone tusks look yummy.

  3. Poor Holly! I hope her paw heals quickly and that the follow‑up goes smoothly. Meeting a blogging friend in Paris sounds so special. And wow, that fish counter in Paris is stunning — such a foodie’s dream!
That confit chickpea hummus with sour cream flatbreads looks delish. 😋

    1. I did not get to meet G as he has started school! I managed to get this post done the day before, which is about all I had managed last week 🙂

  4. must be one of the most whimsical connections i have with other humans on the planet – the IMK community ! lovely to meet you too and wouldn’t it be funny if the IMKers all had a big party somewhere one day… have a great month!

  5. Oh my, I can’t wait to take a closer look at some of these recipes, especially that tipsy tart! We are back from a cruise, which was lovely and I have had to slowly get my groove back as well. I do hope Holly is doing great at this point. And of course your friendship info, very touching! We do find gems, just when we need them. Have a great week ahead, take care!
