Tante Teun B&B, Naaldwijk

Ronald and Martine are the amazing hosts at Tante Teun B&B, situated in Naaldwijk, close to The Hook of Holland. Mark, Eva, Dave and I spent a night in the area. I chose this particular B&B as their breakfasts looked amazing, and catered to vegetarians.

A Warm Welcome

Our rooms at Tante Teun

All three rooms are situated in the garden, and are attached to one another. They are identical in layout and really spacious, with stunning bathrooms. Mark and Eva were in the first room, and we were in the middle, with another couple next to us. The rooms are soundproof and we could not hear our neighbours at all. Our room had a flat screen television as well as air conditioning. WiFi is free of charge and the speed and connectivity extremely good. The greenhouses of the Westland are highlighted with a glass feature above each bed. We had twin beds pushed together that were extremely comfortable, with lovely linen. Coffee and tea are provided as well as toiletries. The shower is large with fantastic pressure.

Breakfast

It was the breakfast more than anything that made me choose Tante Teun. They highlight regional products, some of which are organic, which is ideal for me. We could have chosen to have our breakfast in our room, or the garden, but we ate in the common room, attached to the kitchen of the main house. We were asked to complete our breakfast choices the day before, to ensure we got exactly what we wanted. And had we any allergies, these would have been accommodated as best as possible.

On offer at Tante Teun

As were were not in the area for sightseeing, we did not walk into Naaldwijk, nor did we go to the beach which is close by. Had we chosen to do so, we could have made use of the bicycles they have for the guests to make use of. They have put together various cycle routes, and will provide picnic baskets by prior arrangement. There is also a beautiful garden setting where you can sit and enjoy the peace and quiet, or have a meal. There is also a common room one can use, and on offer is complimentary tea and coffee, as well as an honesty bar. Snacks are also available for when you are feeling peckish.

Arriving and leaving

We checked in just after 14h00 after making an arrangement beforehand as to what time we would arrive. Check out is at 11h00 meaning you can sleep in, and enjoy your breakfast without feeling rushed. You do not need a car to visit the area as they are within easy bus rides of Delft, The Hague and Rotterdam. If you do arrive by car, free parking is available.

  1. Lovely that this stay lived up to expectations . . . the breakfast certsinly looked inviting and substantial! I guess I may be different – since it was a very rare night in our travels that we landed in bed before 1am or later . . . my breakfasts when travelling are always enjoyed in bed . . . actually they are now as well :_ !!!

  2. Hi Tandy, Hope you are well.
That breakfast certainly looked inviting! As did the place itself. Great to see you travelling around…we are more armchair travellers now we are in our 90s, but have some great memories…And, we are lucky enough to live quite near to the Med. sea, so enjoy occasional breakfasts and lunches by the briny with friends. We live in the Costa Blanca area of Spain – recommended as The World Health Org.pronounced it “The Healthiest part of Spain.” Lucky us!
Enjoy as much as you can – it’s a fabulous planet. Cheers! x

  3. I’ve never been to a Bed and Breakfast although I think it’s a charming way to get away and should really put It on my list. The place you stayed certainly looks lovely and accommodating.

I would ♥ to hear from you (comments will be visible when I reply)
