Wolf Hour opening lines: ‘And what is the purpose of your visit, Mr Holger Rudi?’ The CBP officer looks at me without interest as he scratches his upper arm just below the emblem of the US Customs and Border Protection service.
My blurb:
Holger Rudi is here to tell a story about Mike Lunde. But, it is really the story Mike Lunde has to tell himself that we need to listen to. And the only one listening is Bob Oz, a detective who refuses to carry a gun. And who is suspended. Can Bob do what the others have not been able to, and work out who the killer is, and why he is killing?
Wolf Hour
This killer has a story. When a small-time crook is shot down in the streets of Minneapolis, all signs point to a lone wolf, a sniper who has vanished into thin air.To tell it, he needs to get caught. When the shooter strikes again, it’s maverick detective Bob Oz they call in to crack the case. They don’t think this victim will be the last. And this wolf wants the world to know…As the body count rises, Oz suspects something even more sinister is at play. And the closer he gets to the truth, the more disturbed he becomes. Because this serial killer reminds him of someone dangerous: himself. He’s only just getting started.
My verdict:
I really battled with this book because I am so used to Jo Nesbo’s stories being set in Norway. And this story takes place in the United States, where the key players all have Norwegian surnames. I had to keep nudging myself as to where the facts were unfolding. That aside, the twist in the tale made for a good read.
About the Author:
Jo Nesbo is one of the world’s bestselling crime writers. When commissioned to write a memoir about life on the road with his band, Di Derre, he instead came up with the plot for his first Harry Hole crime novel, The Bat. His books The Leopard, Phantom, Police, The Son, The Thirst, Macbeth and Knife have all since topped the Sunday Times charts. He’s an international number one bestseller and his books are published in 51 languages, selling over 60 million copies around the world.

We are indeed! Do you want me to send you this?
I read all of Nesbo’s Harry Hole thriller and dip into his other books based on the subject matter.
Let me know if you read this, and what you think!
I have never read any books of that author, but I do like Scandinavian crime series on Netflix. Do you have a favorite book from Jo Nesbo. I might start there. Have a wonderful start of your week Tandy, ~Nessa
hi, start with the Harry Hole series. Those are his best books 🙂
While I’m not so big on mystery books and thrillers, this might be worth making an exception for! I love getting your reviews.
Thank you! I am so glad to read you enjoy them 🙂
