What did June 2026 hold for you? Dave and I went to Almenkerk for a wine tasting and had an amazing cheese and charcuterie platter. The owner told us it is what they like to eat. I also went to the launch of Jenny Morris’s new recipe book at Leopard’s Leap Wine Estate. It was a lovely lunch with generous portions of food. We did a gin distilling session at Ginologist which I will share in detail in a later post. I am busy fixing up our second guest room as we have visitors later this month, and that has been quite time consuming.
Recipes from my blog in June 2026
I am very blessed to get recipe books to review, and while I am doing that, I am sharing recipes from the books. This month I made carrot gazpacho, protein bars, overnight oats and a protein smoothie from Jamie Oliver’s Eat Yourself Healthy. I created a ravioli con burrata recipe for a special meal, and a small sourdough loaf for my mom to make for my dad. A huge batch of serundeng was made to go with an Indonesian curry.
A few new things in my kitchen
At the launch of Greedy Girl, we were sent home with goody bags. The rice was well timed as I had just added it to my shopping list. I have snacked on the nuts, and put the lentils away for soup I will make over a weekend when we are home for both days. The peanut butter powder contains sugar so I am not sure what I will do with it – maybe make an angel cake? Suggestions welcome. The sauce will go with us to The Netherlands, and the wine will be drunk with friends on my birthday.
This is my July submission to the #IMK series hosted by Sherry. Each month bloggers around the world gather to share what is new in their kitchens.

A cake with that PB powder sounds like a great idea. My mom uses a different brand of PB powder in her mushroom coffee, but the one she uses doesnt have any added sugar. Looking forward to seeing what you make with it.
Thanks Shashi 🙂
Maybe make a traditional chicken mafé with peanut butter powder? I just made one with creamy peanut butter. When I still drank wine, Pinot Noir was one of my favourites.
I shall try that! Thank you 🙂
You have certainly been cooking up a storm lately and all of it good. I like Jamie Oliver’s easy going approach to cooking and I’m sure his book will lead to a lot of good meals.
I can see myself cooking most of the recipes!
As always everything looks great, I will have to try some of the Jamie Oliver recipes. He is a favorite of mine. I love how busy you keep! Thanks so much for sharing it all.
His newest book is really amazing!
It looks like you’ve had a fun, busy, and tasty month!
I did indeed 🙂
Terrific month of cooking!
Thank you John 🙂
Happy July! Peanut butter powder is such a fun ingredient. Even if it has sugar, it can be tempered with spices, like in curries and satay sauces. I like to use it instead of flour on tofu before pan frying, making a crispy, nutty crust.
that is a great idea! I am sucrose intolerant, so sugar is usually a no-no for me 🙂
wow i have never heard of peanut butter powder! how interesting. yes i would find it hard to know what to do with it but yes so interesting. thanks for joining in this month as ever.
cheers
sherry
It can be used to make a quick satay sauce, but beyond that, I am not sure what to do with it, other than add it to my smoothies 🙂
good idea!
yes smoothies sound like a good idea. I remember reading some time ago that they (whoever they are) tried to change the spelling to smoothy, but it never took on …
oh no, was that an American thing??
i guess so 🙂 I think the word smoothie is an aussie thing but i could be wrong there…
sherry
It would seem logical given how many words are shorted in Australia! But we have always called them smoothies here so who knows?
I’ve never used peanut butter powder or even seen it, another product to look for cause I love peanut butter. You are doing very well to be asked to review Jamie Oliver’s new book, sounds great. You’ve had a terrific month by the looks of it Tandy. Nice cooking. Cheers, Pauline

I was really lucky to get this book as International Titles are few and far between here 🙂
As usual, everything looks delish! What a great goodie bag, I’ve never heard of peanut butter powder – I can’t wait to see what you make with it. And I love a good overnight oats recipe so will definitely be checking that out!
Thanks Sammie, I am leaning towards an angel food cake 🙂
How did I not know about peanut butter powder? I definitely need to get some of that.
Let me know what you think of it 🙂
Hi Tandy, Greetings from Toronto! You have been busy in June Tandy. I love to read about your travels, they are very special. And of course all the dishes you have made are always scrumptious, ~Nessa
Thanks for popping in Nessa 🙂
That hot and sour prawn dish with Serundeng sounds interesting… hopping across for a look.
Thanks for the visit Jo 🙂
is it heaps of sugar in the PB powder? otherwise I would use it for a sweet savoury sauce – like those cold noodles with peanut sesame sauce style, or the peanut dipping sauce for rice paper rolls !
Not heaps, and that is how it can be used. I will do a dipping sauce for the rice paper rolls – great idea 🙂
You made some interesting recipes in June that I want to try. I liked the carrot gazpacho, the smoothie, and the overnight oats. Since there is sugar in the PB powder, I often use it for a peanut sauce (since there is usually a little sweetener called for in the recipe).
The first time I saw the PB powder was on your blog 🙂
