Every visit to England needs to include a traditional pub meal. Dave and I had several on our recent holiday. While in the Vale of Evesham we went to Norton Grange.
Norton Grange
All pubs in the UK offer a variety of beers and ciders on tap. This is always our first choice. Dave chose a hobgoblin which comes highly recommended. I chose a dark fruit cider which I had not tried before. It was slightly too sweet for me so I was glad I had only ordered a half pint. For our traditional meal we had a steak and ale pie (£18.10). It was filled with tender chunks of beef with a rich gravy, and a good shortcrust pastry. The pie came with chips and peas, as well as extra gravy. The meal was good, and on offer at a two-for-one deal.

Service was genial and as it was a midweek night, the pub was quiet and few staff were on duty. I can imagine on a warm summer’s day and weekends, it will be busy. They are children friendly, with a beer garden and kids play area. Contact them on +44 1386 871477

When we were in Cambridge for a long stay while attending a workshop at a Math Institute at the University, we lived near several pubs that we enjoyed very much, though I don’t recall a lot of detail about the food. Your visit sounds like fun.

We always enjoy a good UK pub 🙂
the pubs seem to be part of the way of life in the U.K., which sounds quite appealing to me. I’m glad you had the chance to visit one on your recent trip there…
We visited quite a few haha – after lunch drinks are a must when travelling 😉
