May 2020 saw South Africa enter Level 4 of lockdown. There was so much we could not do, like buy underwear (don’t ask). Anything that is not essential could not be purchased. And the determination of that boggles my mind. Needless to say, I am not buying anything for my kitchen right now. This has nothing to do with what we can and cannot buy. But more because I am limiting my spending to what we need until our income returns to normal. Even then, I am not sure what I will consider necessary once this new habit sets in. But, seeing as I have contributed to the #IMK series since the very beginning, I will at least share one thing each month.
Creations from my kitchen May 2020
Warm Aubergine Salad With Spring Onion Dressing
White Chocolate Salted Caramel Popsicle
This is my June submission to the #IMK series, hosted by Sherry. Each month bloggers around the world gather to share what is new in their kitchens. Pop on over to her blog to take a peek.

Did you buy anything new for your kitchen this month?
Hi Tandy, Do hope you are faring well. The recipes above look very tempting. Have you finished building your house yet? Interested… Take care. Cheers! x
We might never be finished – I call it the 20 year plan 😉
We’re still in self-isolation but fortunately we’re able to source about anything we need for the kitchen and have it delivered. In May we purchased a silicon loaf pan and new spatulas.
Enjoy everything you make in your loaf pan 🙂
Great creations.. i love the popsicles best..
thanks Lisa 🙂
Everywhere it seems there are strange regulations. But I hope the new habits you establish now will benefit you in the future. We are pretty much locked in as well. But we are trying to hang in there. Wishing you the best, too. Oh, and I love that tart you posted!
Thank you, and thank you for the visit 🙂
all your recipes look fantastic tandy! so delish. that ganache tart for one … thanks for joining in, and keep well.

sherry
thank you Sherry!
Some wonderful recipes Tandy. I’ve tried the popcorn and the egg salad with added preserved lemon was a good idea. Not much of a lockdown here, if you’re considered essential, just hard for the small businesses who had to close and the laid off workers. But most are back up and running now.
I feel for the small businesses that could not weather this storm and I feel that anyone who has a job should be condidered essential.
Well, I do love microwave popcorn…
I made some yesterday when I saw your comment 🙂
It is strange what is considered essential – I wonder how much influences businesses have on such a determination…
In this country, none, or very little!
Hi Tandy, That ganache tart and the masala figs are going on my to-do list!
Please share your results 🙂
