Peanut Butter And Choc Chip Cookies

My friend Sam told me that her son Handsome loves it when she bakes my peanut butter and chocolate rusks. This was such a compliment for me, as kids are honest to a fault about what they like and dislike. After reviewing The Family Cook Book I decided to adapt her recipe for the oat cookies and make a batch of Peanut Butter And Choc Chip Cookies. I sent a message to Sam asking her if the kids would eat these peanut butter and choc chip cookies and I got a voice message back with handsome saying an emphatic no and Pretty Girl (her daughter) saying yes. With only a 50% positive response to my idea, I left a voice message for my nieces who live in Sydney. Sasha replied telling me that my cookie idea is very good, and gave me ‘permission’ to try it. Nadia who is 3 does not like peanut butter. But she wants sprinkles and stuff and icing! So, these cookies only got a thumbs up from 2 of the 4 children asked, but they got a huge thumbs up from Dave who does not like peanut butter! I suppose next on my list will be cookies made with stuff for the cutest little one who really knows what she wants.

Do you have children who know what cookie flavours they like best?

  1. Kids are certainly honest to a fault! When they don’t like dinner, I’m the first to know it. They love peanut butter though, and I love the chocolate chip and peanut butter combination. So tasty! Thanks for sharing this recipe with us =)

  2. These look soooooooo good!! What a great recipe!! I’m surprised only 2 of the 4 kids liked em?! But if Dave liked em and he doesn’t even like PB I’m sure they’re delicious!

  3. I just blogged about peanut butter cookies today and how they’re one of my all-time favorites…. This recipe looks like perfection!

  4. I totally agree with you. I guess that’s why if you look on a kids menu, it’s always chicken fingers and fries. Because they won’t eat anything else!!
These cookies look amazing. You would get a thumbs up from me!

  5. 4 stars
You know Tandy, I saw your post come up on my feed yesterday and I held my breath as I know we have a history of “great minds think alike”. As Dave doesn’t like peanut butter I don’t think he will like my recipe as it is intensely peanut buttery. Lovely post 🙂 xx

  6. You are absolutely right about kids! Perhaps the best compliment will always come from them. So, congratulations for getting one! Your peanut butter cookies won a kid’s heart!

  7. My daughter and her friends will eat just about anything I put in front of them – they are not good with giving constructive criticism though. I do love the sound of these PB/chocolate cookies and those PB/Chocolate rusks??? I love rusks – but never made my own – let alone know that they could exist in such a wonderful combo of flavors!

  8. Ahh Tandy, you’ve gone and posted another one of my favs.. I love these peanut butter cookies.

  9. I just noticed one thing after reading your post…I baked peanut butter cookies before, but never added chocolate chips…oh! I like oats in it…
    Enjoy your week Tandy 🙂

  10. Kids here would have a sparkle in their eyes if they would get these cookies. I would have sparkles in my eyes too. 😀
For a moment I even thought I had a plateful of them waiting for me, but alas it’s just another food dream. Thanks for sharing Tandy! 😀

  11. You know a kid that doesn’t dig PB & Chocchip cookies. #mindblown That’s crazy!I love cookies, like alllllll cookies. If you wanna gift some to me, I would very gladly take em off your hands. 🙂
